My Story
After the birth of my first child, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that forced me away from the hands on work that I loved, and required me to focus on my own health and well-being. It took a while to come to terms with closing the chapter of hands on work, but being able to stay home to raise my children is something I have immense gratitude toward. I did however, need to find my sense of purpose and regain that sense of self; so easily hidden in between the layers of parenthood and living with chronic illness. What started out as my creative outlet, sewing cloth pads in 2021, quickly transformed into my passion.
I spoke this work into being. It was at my autism assessment in the fall of 2022 that was the catalyst to the expansive nature of my souls work. The assessor asked me essentially, what I wanted to "be when I grew up". Without hesitation I exclaimed, I want to craft and offer natural, earth based products and services to my community.".
What happened next gives me chills every time I think about it. A month later I received a scholarship for the Vitalist Herbalist Practitioner Program through the School of Evolutionary Herbalism. A few months after that I vended at my first market. The rest is history. That is how Earth Wisdom Apothecary came to be.
I spend my free time watching anime with my spouse, gardening, potion making, exploring nature and soaking up as much information and wisdom the universe throws my way.
I truly believe in the innate wisdom of the natural world and how we are all part of the giant cosmic web. We all have the capacity to access that wisdom too; we just have to slow down and listen closely to the voices of the natural world.
